About Wayne Hawkins

A versatile pianist and keyboardist, Wayne Hawkins performs regularly throughout the country and is a member of the jazz faculty of the University of Kansas. As a composer, Hawkins has written for a variety of films, commercials, and recording artists.

In addition to live performance, his discography includes over 30 recordings with a wide variety of artists, including his critically acclaimed Wayne Hawkins' Trio. Hawkins was recently featured on the trio recording Great Days, which included several of his original compositions. Solo piano recordings include his recently recorded Home.

Hawkins has been featured in both regional and international jazz festivals. He has toured extensively with the Doug Talley Quartet, performed regularly with the Kansas City Symphony, and collaborates with artists of varying styles.
